Detailed policy in preparation
Our complete written privacy policy — covering data collected, retention, processing locations, and resident rights — is being finalized for publication. Property managers, boards, and legal teams can request the current draft directly at privacy@gateiq.ca and we will send it within one business day.
What this platform processes
GateIQ's product processes vehicle license plate data, access events, and operator-supplied resident or guest records for the purpose of controlling and auditing parking access. We do not process medical records, payment card numbers (these flow through PCI-compliant processors), or other categories of sensitive personal information beyond what an operator chooses to associate with a plate (for example, a unit number).
PIPEDA principles
Our platform is designed in alignment with the ten privacy principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) — accountability, identifying purposes, consent, limiting collection, limiting use/disclosure/retention, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, and challenging compliance. The full mapping is included in the written policy package.
Data residency
Canadian data residency is available on request for properties that require all production data to remain in Canada. Contact us during the site assessment to scope this for your deployment.
Retention
Plate images and access events are retained for a configurable period per site, with automatic purge after the retention window. Default and site-specific retention rules are documented and auditable.
Your rights
Residents and individuals whose plate data is processed by GateIQ on behalf of an operator may exercise access, correction, and deletion rights through the operator (the property or property-management firm). For requests that the operator cannot fulfill directly, contact privacy@gateiq.ca.
